Testimonies of Healing

It is with the deepest gratitude that I write this testimony of the wonderful benefits received from Christian Science. Several years ago I was suffering very much from nervousness, caused, it was said, by a long and trying illness.

For three and a half years I had been troubled with a peculiar complaint from which I could get no relief, and which the doctor said was caused by an intestinal spasm. It came whenever I would eat or drink anything, and the wailing sound could be heard half a block away.

For more than ten years I suffered so from what was termed chronic nervous indigestion, that I was forced to give up my business and engage in work which would keep me out of doors more. Material remedies of every kind had been used without beneficial results, and as the malady was declared to be inherited, physicians said that no cure could be effected, but I might be made more comfortable by living in the open air as much as possible, with plenty of exericise, if I would be careful of my diet and keep myself free from worry.

When Christian Science came to me it was indeed the light that "shineth in darkness," and I am grateful for the privilege of giving my testimony. My days had been spent mostly in fear, sorrow, and sickness, for as a child I was considered delicate, and many laws of heredity were constantly held over me, one of which was insanity.

For some time I have desired to give my testimony of thanks to the world, and my wish is that it may be of benefit to some one. Christian Science has been my only physician; consequently I have never known what it is to take a dose of medicine.

With a heart full of gratitude and love I testify to the numerous benefits received since gaining a little understanding of this healing truth. The study of Christian Science has been of the greatest help to me during the last four years.

Through  the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy I have been healed of chronic stomach disorder and of severe headaches.

Ten years ago I was healed through Christian Science of severe backache, said to have been brought about by diseased kidneys. I had looked for relief through material remedies, but was not helped much by any of them.

I have had many wonderful healings through the study of Christian Science. In September, 1914, I went to a practitioner and asked for help, as I had tried well-nigh everything that mortal man could invent but got no help.

When I was asked why I did not try Christian Science, I was about to undergo an operation for the removal of an abnormal growth which for two years had caused me great suffering. I accepted the invitation to participate in the reading of the Lesson-Sermon at the home of the questioner.
