Testimonies of Healing

For some time I have felt that in recognition of the help which Christian Science has brought to me, I should tell my experience of the past two years. In the spring of 1915 a condition arose which involved my comrade in business and myself without our knowledge in a spurious contract which threatened financial ruin and loss of reputation.

It is thirteen years since we became interested in Christian Science. In that time we have had many proofs of the power of Truth.

I want to give testimony of the wonderful healing which I have received through Christian Science. In September, 1914, I was taken down with what the doctors termed Bright's disease and acute rheumatism.

In deep gratitude I send this testimony of what Christian Science with its story of loving truth has done for me and for my family. I was getting ready to undergo a second operation when I first heard the words "God is good.

With a heart full of gratitude I would recount the blessings which my family and I have received through Christian Science. For eight years I consulted various doctors and visited different places in order to get my twin children well.

About ten years ago an oculist told me that I would have to wear rest glasses because my eyes had been strained by too constant reading, so for a period of two years I wore them whenever I read. Then my eyes seemed improved and I wore the glasses only occasionally, but in the autumn of 1913 the trouble became serious.

Before knowing of Christian Science I was never happy or satisfied; nothing made me contented, and I saw no prospect of ever having my longing fulfilled. In 1896 I was kicked by a colt and fell flat on my back.

I wish to say that the foregoing testimony by my wife is correct, and that through her healing I was led to take up the study and practice of Christian Science and have received physical, mental, and financial benefits. Words are inadequate to express my thankfulness to God and my gratitude to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

In grateful recognition of the physical, moral, and spiritual regeneration brought into my life through a knowledge of Christian Science, and with the hope that, my experience may bring encouragement to some other seeker, I desire to give this testimony through the columns of our periodicals. The earnest study and application of the Principle of Christian Science, unfolding each day new and clearer views of God and His creation, have brought to me convincing evidence that Christian Science is the truth practiced by Christ Jesus, and that the healing works he accomplished were not for his time only, but for all time.

Christian Science came to me in an hour of greatest need, and has been a constant help ever since. I have never known it fail to heal when its teachings were faithfully practiced; and this testimony is sent in deep gratitude for all that it has done for me.
