Testimonies of Healing

When Christian Science first came to me I was suffering from a belief of sorrow and great loneliness; also the problem of having to make my own living was before me and caused a great deal of fear and worry, as I had been tenderly reared and did not know which way to turn. About this time a sister was healed by Christian Science treatment.

I have been a student of Christian Science for about five years, and during that time have had many proofs of the healing efficacy of this wonderful truth, for which I am very grateful. A severe bowel disorder which had troubled me since childhood has been overcome, and glasses which had been worn for several years on account of weak eyes were discarded when I came into Science.

In Isaiah we read, "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters. " How grateful I am that I have found the way to drink of these living waters! For years I lived a happy-go-lucky life, quite satisfied with things as they were.

I am indeed grateful for the blessings that have come to me through the study and application of the truths taught in Christian Science. Five years ago a malignant growth, for which an operation had been recommended by our family physician, was removed through the power of divine Love.

Through Christian Science I have been enabled to leave off glasses which had been worn for sixteen years, and have been healed of partial deafness. The condition of my feet was such that I could not wear shoes all day, and could not walk any distance without suffering.

It was not for the physical healing that I came to Christian Science. There was one memorable day in my life when a prayer went out from my heart with a yearning I had never before experienced, asking for the truth to be revealed as God, the source of truth, would have me know it; and this desire remained with me until I was led into Christian Science, when I felt that it had been answered.

The psalmist says, "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High. " Surely it is a good thing for me to express with deepfelt love to God my gratitude for the blessings which I am receiving daily through the understanding of Christian Science gained from a study of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

Christian Science is the only form of religious teaching which I have ever embraced, having been educated in its precepts from the time I was five years of age. I have always accepted as a matter of course the fundamentals of this truth, and would have looked with amazement upon the presence of a doctor in our household.

The truth of the words, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," was made clear to me when the hour seemed darkest. My little son, a strong, healthy child, became suddenly very ill with stomach and intestinal trouble, accompanied by nervousness and irritability.

With a deep sense of gratitude and a song of praise to the one God, I lovingly give my testimony as to the power of Christian Science to heal. For years I was in bondage to a so-called organic disease, and at different times was under the care of physicians, but with only temporary relief.
