Testimonies of Healing

Before learning of Christian Science I was an invalid for three years. I had been treated by thirteen different physicians, some of them the most eminent in the state, but had grown so weak and despondent that I looked for relief only through death.

It is with unspeakable thankfulness to God, the giver of all good, and with gratitude to our dearly beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her spiritual interpretation of the teachings of the Master, that I acknowledge my healing of curvature of the spine.

In February, 1913, I suffered from what was later diagnosed as chronic appendicitis, and as the suffering did not diminish, I was operated on in July by the foremost surgeons of the county. I recovered from the operation rapidly, but did not get relief from the ailment, so was treated successively by a number of eminent physicians.

I wish to make a grateful acknowledgment of what Christian Science has done for me. For nearly ten years I had suffered from rheumatism, neuritis, heart trouble, and a chronic throat affection.

Christian Science was brought to me through a neighbor when I was very much in need of comfort. From the first the light began to dawn on my darkened thoughts and illumed my way to the truth.

My experience in Christian Science dates from June, 1914, and I could not begin to tell of the wonderful change that has come into my life and my home. Christian Science found me in the depths and came to me like a ray of sunshine, dispelling all doubts and fears.

I spent several years as a trained nurse in a large hospital, and during that time saw most of the diseases known to the medical profession and the various methods of treatment: but since turning to Christian Science I have found the power of Truth to be the quickest, safest, and most efficacious remedy for physical ills. The spiritual regeneration which Truth brings to one's consciousness is, however, the most beautiful part of the healing.

About twenty-six years ago I had what the doctors called a nervous breakdown, and had to resort to sleeping powders to get any sleep. Medicine was taken continually for bowel trouble, but finally the doctors said the bowels were paralyzed.

Sincere gratitude impels me to tell of the blessings received through Christian Science. As far back as twelve years ago I had an abdominal enlargement which caused me all manner of inconvenience.

I am very thankful for what Christian Science has done for me. For almost two years I swung like a pendulum between a fixity and nothing, laboring under the delusion that all my friends were persecuting me, and that my dear wife and relatives were trying to harm me.
