Testimonies of Healing
Some fifteen years ago my attention was attracted to the physical healing attributed to Christian Science, but for about five years I gave it little thought except when some miracle in healing, as I then termed it, came to my notice. At last I began to read the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
In February, 1913, Christian Science was first brought to my notice when material remedies had been exhausted in the attempt to find relief. I had suffered for years from chronic bowel disorder, acute stomach trouble, and many minor ailments.
I wish to express my gratitude for benefits received from Christian Science. A few years ago, while living in London, I suffered severely from what is called neurasthenia.
I take pleasure in witnessing to the truth of my mother's testimony. It was my little girl whom she carried, and her healing caused me to turn to Christian Science.
For some time I have felt a strong desire to express my gratitude to God and to submit my testimony for publication, in the hope that some one may be benefited by reading it. For many years I was a sufferer from female weakness, and was never able to hold or to rock any one of my four children or do much about the home.
One near to me was healed of chronic stomach trouble, which was overcome in the second Christian Science treatment, and the demonstration led me to investigate this teaching. Then when I became ill with what to mortal sense was appendicitis, dread of an operation urged me to seek aid in Christian Science, and in a few days the case was fully met.
With a heart full of gratitude I give this testimony in regard to what Christian Science has done for me and mine during the past twenty-three years. When medicine failed to help me, I turned to Christian Science, and was soon freed from the bondage of bowel trouble.
Thirteen years ago I was operated on for appendicitis and a growth in my side. Although the operation was performed by a noted surgeon, the result was almost constant pain in my side and severe headaches.
About the middle of January, 1915, after exhausting every remedy known to the medical profession for the relief of a stubborn cough of years' standing, I was invited to visit the Christian Science church, and attended a Wednesday evening meeting with my brother. At the close of the meeting I met many pleasant people, and was greatly impressed with their kindness and interest in me, when my past life had been so full of sin.
My heart is filled with thankfulness to God as I send this testimony. A few years ago a lady who was interested in Christian Science kindly explained it to me and lent me the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
