Testimonies of Healing

The wonderful blessings that have come to me through Christian Science since my first acquaintance with it about nine years ago, make each day one of thanksgiving. When a very small child I suffered from throat trouble, and as I grew older this developed into tubercular disease, bronchial trouble, catarrh, stomach disorder, and a complication of diseases, thus intensifying the sense of fear and worry.

I wish to tell of some of the blessings which Christian Science has brought to us. One day in August, 1914, my sister while working in the garden was affected by the heat of the sun.

I had tried all the medical profession had to offer, even to a severe diet which one of our best physicians thought would cure me; but finding material means unable to bring relief, I turned to Christian Science as a last resort, and was healed in a few treatments of severe headaches and of chronic bowel disorder which had troubled me since I was a youngster. I was also healed of chilblains and have laid aside glasses.

If ever a mortal was in bondage, it was I, but Christian Science freed me after all material methods had failed. From childhood I had struggled for health.

In the first days of January, 1914, I became very hoarse as the result of a cold, and was unable to talk above a whisper. Despite the many material means which I applied, including home remedies and medicines prescribed by various physicians, I failed to experience relief.

For the many blessings received since coming into Christian Science I wish to express my gratitude. Rheumatism and many other ills have been overcome through the understanding of the truth.

One Monday evening, when in a place where no practitioner nearer than the United States was available, I was suddenly taken with intense pain. My husband tried to help me, but sense-testimony was so insistent that after hours of intense suffering it seemed best to send for the doctor to administer a hypodermic injection, as our Leader says may be done under such circumstances (see Science and Health, p.

After an experience of several years in Christian Science I wish to express my thanks to Almighty God for the unnumbered blessings that have come to me. Although to material sense I was gifted with a wonderful constitution, nevertheless exposure, overexertion, want of ordinary care, wrong pursuits and pleasures, which seem to make up the chief aim and existence of so many, all brought their inevitable result in the shape of ill health.

With a heart full of thankfulness to God I testify to the many blessings received through Christian Science. Almost all of them have been brought about by the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

As with many others, not ill health in my own immediate family, but the raising up of a dear relative, apparently from the brink of the grave, drew me to Christian Science. We have received help in Science in so many ways that I cannot name them all.
