Testimonies of Healing

It is a little less than three years ago that I began to study Christian 'Science, and during this time I have been given new life; many of the "former things" have passed away, and each day brings new light. When I began the study of Christian Science I was suffering great physical distress, having a supposedly incurable disease, also a complication of other ailments.

I became interested in Christian . Science nearly two years ago, when my little son, then six years of age, was healed of severe spinal trouble.

Among the many who are daily voicing thanks for the blessings received through Christian Science, none can be more grateful than I. Having suffered for many months from a tantalizing skin disease, and receiving no relief from materia medica, I was advised to try Christian Science.

In 1892 a friend, though not a Christian Scientist, handed me a copy of Science and Health, and asked me if I would not like to read it. I gladly accepted the volume, and expressed my thanks for the opportunity it gave me to look into Christian Science, which I had for some time desired to do.

When I recall my mother, Mrs. Catharine Holman, whose testimony is given above, as she was when I was a girl, memory pictures her as weak and delicate, and ourselves as always filled with anxiety and fear for her.

I desire to thank God, and to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for my healing, by writing my testimony, as in that way I shall possibly be able to help some one else in need.

I wish to make an acknowledgment of what Truth has done for me, as I feel that I have not been grateful enough. Of late, especially, I have tried to be more thankful, and I am glad of an opportunity to express my gratitude.

With the hope that in relating my own experience in Christian Science I may be of help to some other young man who is trying to feel satisfied with so-called worldly pleasures, I gratefully give this testimony. Christian Science came to me twice in about five months, in times of great need, and I can truly say that all I am today, and all I ever aspire to be, I owe to this truth.

About two and a half years ago Christian Science was brought to my notice by my brother-in-law, who had returned to Africa after a prolonged stay in different parts of Europe in search of health. He informed me that the marked physical improvement which I saw in him was the result of Mrs.

I feel it a duty as well as a pleasure to give my testimony for publication, hoping thus to help some one who may be discouraged, as I was when I first learned of Christian Science. I had been under medical treatment for many months, but was not receiving any benefit.
