Testimonies of Healing

I attribute my happy and healthy childhood to the fact that I regularly attended a Christian Science Sunday School and had the support of my parents, who were active Christian Scientists. It was only natural for me to want to give my children Christian Science as my mother did for her children.

Some years ago an optometrist told me after an examination that I had glaucoma and offered to give me the name of a specialist. I thanked him, but said I would go to a Christian Science practitioner for healing through prayer.

My family and I live in a small town in central Kenya. The imaginary line of the equator passes through the town.

Getting into bed one night, I was suddenly overwhelmed by excruciating pain in one foot. It was as though I had somehow crushed some bones.

One wonders why the world does not more readily accept spiritual healing. Humanity keeps searching for new sets of rules for establishing good health, yet we have always had the reliable and proven example of Christ Jesus.

" Behold , I make all things new," says Revelation 21:5 . This describes the effect Christian Science has had on my thinking.

To the best of my recollection, this experience happened exactly as described in my wife's testimony. I sought out the paramedics a week after my healing took place and thanked them for their help.

In 1991 my daughter and I took a trip to Australia; my husband had planned to join us later. Our son and his family live nearby and were in touch with him often.

A few years ago I suddenly began to feel myself losing consciousness at times. This was particularly frightening to me, as the symptoms occurred a few times while I was driving and necessitated my pulling over immediately.

I have a healing of physical illness to share and, more important, gratitude for a renewed sense of Church. Perhaps to your surprise, they are one and the same.
