Testimonies of Healing

I was raised in Christian Science. Two healings that my parents related were always meaningful to me.

Whenever a new issue of the Christian Science Sentinel or the Journal arrives at our home, I first read all the testimonies of healing. From reading these testimonies, my confidence in the practicality of relying on God for healing has deepened tremendously.

My testimony is certainly long overdue, since I first learned of Christian Science over sixty years ago. My father came into the study of Christian Science through his healing of a nervous breakdown.

Spiritual healing has been going on in my family for over fifty years. My mother found Christian Science through a neighbor, who kindly shared it with her at a time of great need.

Many years ago a rather large growth appeared on my back. I immediately prayed to heal something so unlike harmony or Life, God.

My husband and I witnessed the powerful effect of prayer during the birth of our daughter. I had made arrangements to have a home delivery with a doctor in attendance.

Man overboard!" The call rang out and triggered actions that every sailor is trained to perform automatically. The day had been all that sailing buffs could ask for.

My gratitude for Christian Science is unbounded. I have studied this Science for forty years, and my study has been accompanied by blessings and joy.

It's difficult to summarize in a few paragraphs a lifetime of "adventures" as a Christian Scientist and to convey fully my sense of gratitude. Perhaps what first comes to mind is the increased understanding of man's completeness and fulfillment I have gained through Science.

As one looks back over the years, one just cannot help being grateful for the daily direction and protection found through Christian Science. The truth of God in these words from the Bible, "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways" (Psalms), has been proved to me over and over again.
