Testimonies of Healing

In the years since my introduction to Christian Science, I have been the grateful recipient of many blessings. There are three healing experiences I would like to tell about.

Over the years I've read many accounts of Christian Scientists who had problems that interfered with performing necessary tasks; then, with complete faith that God would see them through, they carried on and completed their assignments. I always thought that was wonderful for them but that I could never do the same because I did not possess the understanding or faith that they had shown.

My father's cousin was one of the first Christian Science practitioners in Melbourne. I have known of Christian Science for most of my life, having heard it mentioned and discussed at various times in our family.

I am so grateful to have been raised a Christian Scientist, and even more grateful that I have Christian Science to rely upon in raising our two children. It is indispensable to me, and I would like to relate the following healings as proof of God's love and care for His children.

One Sunday after church I fell, hitting my face hard on the pavement. I stayed on the ground a few moments, unable to get up.

Some years ago I had an internal illness so debilitating that I could not carry out my activities as a homemaker and mother of four. Instead my family had to care for me.

Throughout her writings, Mary Baker Eddy advises us not to look to the human body for either positive or negative signs of health, but to know that we live in Spirit, not matter. Even though I grew up a Christian Scientist and had many wonderful healings, I always had a habit of praying about a condition and then checking the body for improvement.

This testimony is an expression of joy and gratitude for all the wonderful experiences I have had through the study of Christian Science, learning of the allness and ever-presence of God. Physical healings, employment problems, financial hardship, and housing problems have been resolved through reliance on God alone.

A healing that occurred when I was a small child has been a great source of inspiration to me. I became very ill with influenza.

After a lifetime of protection, direction, and healing through the daily study and application of Christian Science, it is time that I submit this heartfelt testimony of gratitude! My father became a Christian Science practitioner when I was very young. As a result, whenever I had any difficulty, he was immediately aware of it and healed the problem through prayer.
