Testimonies of Healing

We have four generations of Christian Scientists in our family and have had numerous healings. When our eldest son was fifteen months old, he was crawling by the kitchen stove; a pot overturned and hot coffee poured over his unprotected back.

When we were expecting our third child, we wanted a home birth, but early in the pregnancy I developed a bleeding condition. I had been praying for a harmonious birth all along, and I saw this as an opportunity to grow in my understanding of God as Life.

Throughout my fifteen years in Christian Science I have had proof that we can trust the power of the Christ, Truth, to heal discord, right from the beginning of our "adventure" in studying this marvelous Science. We have had healings in our family of a broken nose, jaundice, seasonal colds and flu, and headaches.

" Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? .

At the end of the Second World War, my husband returned from a prisoner-of-war camp suffering from tuberculosis. Years later a school friend of my oldest daughter introduced us to Christian Science.

Mary Baker Eddy wrote that the purpose in founding The Christian Science Journal was "to put on record the divine Science of Truth.

I would like to testify to a healing I had through turning to God in prayer, as taught in Christian Science. My wife and I were staying overnight at a hotel, as we were scheduled to fly out of the country early the following day.

Christian Scientists often speak of their healings as "beautiful. " In looking back over a lifetime of studying Christian Science, I have noted that in all my experiences of Christian Science healing, there has been a loss, in some measure, of material-mindedness; in each case, this spiritual progress has been beautiful.

Since my last published testimony of healing through Christian Science, I have experienced quick healings of colds, upset stomach, and several sports injuries. Over two years ago I had a healing that brought me increased spiritual understanding.

I have known the action of God's power in my life for many years. A popular saying, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," has been proved in the lives of our family.
