Our daughter and her husband very kindly allowed our two grandchildren, Christy and Kirk, to visit us for a week last spring. We were having a happy time and planned to go swimming at an indoor pool that day. But we decided to go to the playground first. This particular playground has a wonderful jungle gym, and the children played while I sat nearby reading the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
At one point I looked up in time to see four-year-old Kirk in a precarious situation on the bars, and nine-year-old Christy helping him. But in order to reach him, she had to place herself in a most awkward position.
When I raced over, Kirk was fine, but as Christy tried to put weight on her other leg, she let out a cry of pain. I lifted her in my arms, held her very close, and declared vehemently and out loud: "You have not, for one moment, been separated from your Father-Mother God. You are God's precious child." I just held to this thought. In just a few seconds I felt Christy relax in my arms, and then try to put her feet back on the bars.
