CHURCH NEWS

From the January 1993 issue of The Christian Science Journal

You are invited to see our new selection of Bibles from The Mother Church's Historical Bible Collection.

The Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, treasured and studied the Scriptures from earliest childhood, and she urged her students to do the same. She named the Christian Science textbook, which she says "contains the full statement of Christian Science," Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. A key donor to the Bible Collection, William Pitfield, a Christian Scientist from England, wrote, "... as the world's attention is more and more drawn by the 'Key to the Scriptures' to the Scriptures themselves, people will be glad of an opportunity of inspecting the remains of a glorious verbal structure."

Today the entire Bible is translated into over three hundred languages and dialects. This exhibit includes Bibles in the languages of the original texts of the Bible and in some of the many translations of the Scriptures, which are blessing mankind by making the Word of God available to everyone.
