Christian Science: a promise of salvation

Original in Spanish

From the January 1993 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science is the Science of Christianity; it's religion that heals. It opens the way for every one of its students to work out his own salvation and find freedom from all that is evil—from sin, sickness, death. Through Science we can demonstrate that harmony, peace, health, love, well-being, are eternal, spiritual realities.

General belief says that God has provided material methods for healing diseases, and most people turn to material remedies in search of healing. At times, some people have even come to believe that God has supported or reinforced the power of a drug in order to heal what is believed to be incurable.

Christian Science demonstrates that it is fear, ignorance, sin, that originate diseases, that all disease has a mental basis; and that a correct understanding of God and man is the most effective method of eliminating any discord. "It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord," Mrs. Eddy writes, "and the right understanding of Him restores harmony" Science and Health, p. 390.
