Testimonies of Healing
As a child I was considered quite frail and fearful. After I had married and was pregnant for the second time, I became very weak.
Although I grew up in a Christian home in which church attendance was an important family activity, as a young adult I simply stopped attending. I suppose I felt at the time that religion had no practical import in my daily life.
I was only two years old when my parents found out about Christian Science, and the change in my life that began then has given me enormous joy, progress, and fulfillment. As a child I had quick healings of measles, chicken pox, scarlet fever, impetigo, and occasional cuts and abrasions.
My heart overflows with gratitude for Christian Science and for the woman who lived Christian Science in her daily life so well that she impelled my mother to enquire of her about this Science. Eventually my mother enrolled me in the Christian Science Sunday School, which provided me with a wonderful basis from which to embark on life.
" The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works" (Psalms). After an accident in my home, I was bothered for some time by an injured foot.
My grandparents and parents were adherents of Christian Science. Consequently, I grew up in a home where Science was studied and practiced.
In 1948 I married an avid sportsman whose dream was someday to have a son to fish and hunt with him. Five years later a son was born to us, but within a day or two he was unable to retain his milk.
As long as I can remember, I have loved God and have felt His love for me. The numerous healings I have experienced through Christian Science since childhood have served as both a "rod" and a "staff" for me, providing me with discipline and care.
My gratitude for the saving grace of God, which I have found as a student of Christian Science, impels me to share a significant healing I witnessed early in my study of Science. Our young daughter and son used to enjoy running down a hill behind our house and leaping onto a huge flat-topped boulder at the bottom of the hill.
" Finally , a chance to actually meet one. " That was my first thought when finding out a co-worker had been raised in Christian Science.
