Testimonies of Healing

For me, reading the Christian Science periodicals has always been comparable to receiving letters from a loved one that are filled with encouragement, admonition, correction, and inspiration. These timely messages have so benefited me that I am happy to add my testimony of God's healing power.

Until recently I was a tour guide and traveled by air extensively. On one flight, I had just studied the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly when I felt directed to walk to the rear of the plane.

For many years I have received much encouragement from reading testimonies in the Christian Science Sentinel . These accounts of spiritual healing have convinced me that nothing is impossible with God.

After an automobile accident I became very ill: I lost nearly forty pounds, could neither sleep nor eat, and was in constant, unrelenting pain. As a class-taught Christian Scientist, I never doubted that Science could and would heal me as it always had.

"All things work together for good to them that love God" ( Rom. 8:28 ).

I am grateful to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science, and to say with certainty I know that God is the only true physician. Two summers ago, in an auto accident, I incurred a head injury and a broken wrist.

Traveling alone with a large canoe in a remote corner of Canada one September day, I found myself paddling down a river under a steady, cold rain. Late in the day, as often happens in the forest, I came to an impasse.

I have raised five children, most of the time without the availability of a telephone and miles from help. The Bible and Science and Health by Mrs.

A student of Christian Science from childhood, I recognize what a solid basis this study has provided for my life. It has taught me the importance of facing every situation with Christly grace and confidence in divine Truth.

Many people take for granted certain activities and skills that generally are learned during childhood. I'm thinking particularly of swimming.
