Testimonies of Healing
A healing of excessive drinking in our family took place years ago when I put everything in God's hands and quit worrying. My husband always cared a great deal for his family.
My family became interested in Christian Science when my two-year-old sister was healed of a fractured skull. I had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School until the age of twenty, and of joining The Mother Church and a branch church at an early age.
I estimate that I have heard over ten thousand testimonies of spiritual healing during the nearly forty years I've been attending Wednesday evening meetings in Christian Science churches. Add to this the featured accounts of healing I've read in the Christian Science periodicals during that time, and I've heard a considerable body of evidence as to the healing power of divine Science.
It is high time that I testify to the certain effect of scientific prayer. As a child, I attended the Christian Science Sunday School.
Every year my husband and I participate in a long biking trip through the Wisconsin hills as members of a bicycle club. Sometimes we cover as many as one hundred and seventy miles in three days.
In June 1973, I was stricken with a heart attack and nervous breakdown. My family asked me what doctor I wanted.
Our son was in an auto accident not long ago. He had contusions all over his body, a knee injury, and he was unable to draw a full breath because of damage to his chest.
Christian Science means the world to me. Sunday School training and the guidance of my parents provided me with all the encouragement I needed to identify myself as a Christian Scientist during my teen-age and college years.
Several years ago I found myself with a physical condition that seemed quite serious, though the trouble was never diagnosed. The symptoms included fatigue, loss of appetite, and difficulty in breathing.
During my nine years as a student of Christian Science, the question has occasionally occurred, "What would I do if for some reason I became unconscious? How would I be able to take care of myself?" The following incident taught me that God, divine Mind, is the source of my consciousness, and that He is an ever-present help. For this reason, I'll never again fear loss of consciousness.
