I have belonged to five branch churches of Christ, Scientist, at different times over the years, so I suppose that, if anything, my involvement in healing work could best be described as a "moving experience"!
I belonged to a Protestant church when I first heard of Christian Science and was losing weight because I couldn't eat. Since I was unable to take care of my family, my mother-in-law suggested that we all take a vacation. So, I answered an advertisement to board with a farm family in the country for the summer.
My husband, our three-year-old daughter, and I went to stay there, but my health didn't begin to improve until this farmer's wife told me of several beautiful healings of some Christian Scientists she knew. She directed me to one of her neighbors who loaned me a copy of Miscellaneous Writings by Mrs. Eddy. I read it and thought, This is the teaching for me!
