Poems

As of a little child

From the March 1981 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Naaman laid aside
arrogant national
and self-willed pride
that claimed his name
and became again
as he was before
(before the world was,
before the claim came).

Little wonder then
that right when
his dipping act
symbolized this fact
his flesh shone undefiled
as of a little child!
