Testimonies of Healing

While I was serving in the Christian Science Reading Room recently, I came across my mother's testimony, published in the  Sentinel , relating my childhood healing of mastoiditis and scarlet fever. Now, many years later, I am happy to testify to the permanency of those healings, with no ill effects of any kind.

From my teen years I had an acute reaction to poison oak, even without actually coming into contact with the plant. At first I broke out repeatedly during the autumn.

Class instruction in Christian Science strengthened my desire to heal ills by prayer alone. I had been raised in Science.

A few years ago our family made a major change in life style. My husband had been working for fifteen years in a profession that afforded us a very comfortable income, but one in which he was not happy.

During recent years, through more earnest study of Christian Science, I have found that the Christ leads me in my daily life and is always with me, ever ready to help and to heal. Last year I had a further step of spiritual awakening from material dependency by having class instruction in Christian Science.

As a teen-ager, I was injured in a fall from a galloping horse. No medicine or drugs of any kind were given me.

Ten years ago the pressures of daily living weighed on me so persistently that my vision was affected. Finally I couldn't see clearly enough to carry on in my work.

I found Christian Science after a great deal of searching. A general physical weakness and a constant questioning of life's purpose were the motives behind this search.

Christian Science first came into my life when my mother was healed of intestinal cancer. This healing made such an impact on our family of seven that we all began attending the Church of Christ, Scientist.
