Testimonies of Healing

My maternal grandmother found Christian Science when I was a small child. After attending a Church of Christ, Scientist, for the first time she said, "This is what I've been looking for all my life!" A short time later my mother became very ill and requested Christian Science treatment, as she had lost all faith in medical means.

I was raised in a Christian Science environment, knowing that our true Father-Mother is God and that He meets all our human needs. Divine Love sustained our family after my father's sudden death.

As a teen-ager and a young man I was extremely underweight. This was attributed to a chronic internal ailment that frequently caused severe pain.

During the Second World War, when there seemed to be nothing for me but insoluble problems, I was presented with a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

Since I began studying Christian Science several years ago, the Christ has transformed my life. My consciousness has become less self-centered and more God-centered.

My grandmother and mother were healed through prayer in Christian Science, and they immediately accepted this teaching. So I was associated with this religion all during my childhood.

At a time when I was taking five different kinds of medication daily, Christian Science was brought to my attention by a friend in Germany. I was awed by the account of his sister's healing through spiritual means alone.

Mary Baker Eddy writes ( Miscellaneous Writings, pp. 82-83 ): "Immortal Mind is God, immortal good; in whom the Scripture saith 'we live, and move, and have our being.

Upon leaving my office one afternoon, I was suddenly stricken with extreme pains in my back. By the time I arrived home it was almost impossible for me to get out of the car.

I have had many blessings as a result of my faith in and devotion to the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy, as they are set down in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. In more than fifty years I have had healings of diseases, the overcoming of inharmonies, and I have received supply and protection through an understanding of our Father-Mother God, as taught to mankind by Christ Jesus.
