Testimonies of Healing
Several years ago, on my return from a long trip around the world, it was apparent that I was very ill and in need of nursing care. I was taken to a nursing home for Christian Scientists near New York City.
At one time I suddenly found that my mouth would open only slightly and my face and neck were swollen and painful. I was afraid.
Shortly after I graduated from college, Christian Science class instruction opened my thought more fully to the infinite resources of Spirit available to all mankind. The yearly association meetings since then have encouraged me to persist in discovering, understanding, and using these divine resources.
I am grateful to have overcome a miserable condition of chronic shyness. Extreme timidity continued from childhood into manhood.

Although I attended a Christian Science Sunday School from a very early age, by my late teens I had not really made this teaching my own. My understanding of God's allness and love seemed to have been stunted by material attractions, although I felt it was good to have something like Christian Science "on the shelf" if ever it were needed.

A number of years ago when my husband passed on suddenly, leaving me with three young sons, the prayerful support of a Christian Science practitioner lifted me above grief and loss. A wonderful feeling of the "husbanding" qualities of divine Love brought into my life friends, relatives, and others who were able to help guide me in making many necessary decisions, and whose love and interest greatly blessed the boys and me.
