Testimonies of Healing

My last testimony appeared almost thirty years ago in an issue of the Christian Science Sentinel. The healings mentioned have proved permanent.

The healing of my mother in 1914 convinced me beyond doubt that Christian Science is the truth of being. Christ Jesus said ( John 8:32 ), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

About four years ago my wife and I were preparing for a vacation of more than three weeks in Hawaii. A sister was to accompany us.

Years ago I desperately needed to be guided out of an unhappy relationship that had so troubled me, I was ill with complex physical difficulties. This finally landed me in the hospital.

Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, was truly guided by God to include in the Manual of The Mother Church this requirement ( Art. VIII, Sect.

My first healing, which occurred many years ago, was one of chilblains of the feet. It was during the time I lived in the Midwest.

Christian Science has taught me the healing power of gratitude. I have learned that evidences of good are proof of God's ever-presence.

For many years I was troubled with a malfunctioning heart. From time to time I asked for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner and was always greatly helped immediately.

It has been many years since my testimony appeared in the Journal of June 1959. Since then I have reared a family of three children.

This is a healing within our family that showed the importance of loving your neighbor. Our neighbor shot our dog with a shotgun at close range, and he had apparently intended to kill the dog.
