I first heard of Christian Science after I was grown. My mother offered me Science and Health by Mrs.

I came into Christian Science nearly fifty years ago, and I have been blessed in many ways. When I count my blessings, they are like the sands of the sea, more than could be numbered.

Once while driving alone I suddenly became ill with severe abdominal pain. I felt I must get off the highway.

Some years ago I began to have trouble seeing properly. One eye functioned very well seeing things close up, and the other in seeing objects far away.

When I was a small girl, my family moved a lot, and I went to a different school every year. When I reached high school age, I became very timid and self-conscious about going to a new school and making new friends.

We live on a grain farm in a section of Alberta that has been noted for the severity of its hailstorms. I have always prayed for our protection.

The first introduction to Christian Science in our family occurred on a memorable morning when my mother, who had been ill for several weeks, was in a coma. There had been four doctors in our home in consultation, and their decision was, "There is no hope for the recovery of your mother.

My parents began studying this Science when I was a small child, but not until I left home to go to college did I have any real challenge to prove what I had been learning in the Christian Science Sunday School. During my sophomore year an influenza epidemic broke out in college, and I became seriously ill with the condition.

Christian Science came into our lives many years ago shortly after my husband and I emigrated from our native Germany to the United States. A neighbor one day asked me where our small son attended Sunday School.
