Testimonies of Healing
I am grateful to be able to affirm that Christian Science heals disease. For some weeks during the spring and summer of 1970, I was plagued by a surprising number and variety of ailments.
The Word of God in the Scripture, whose spiritual meaning is revealed in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, is the true healer of all human ills. My gratitude for the help and inspiration I have received from the testimonies of others impels me to submit these proofs of God's care. My most precious heritage is having been raised in Christian Science.
I am a living testimony to the healing power of Christian Science. I was born a blue baby and was not expected to live.
When my mother was a young married woman, she suffered for eight years from a stomach condition, and was like the woman in the Bible who "had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse" ( Mark 5:26 ). A friend suggested that she try Christian Science, but it was not until the doctors said there was nothing more they could do for her that she finally went with her friend to see a Christian Science practitioner.
It was in December, 1922, that at Christmas a friend gave me the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
Christian Science has been my only physician for thirty-one years. I submit the following experience and healing, hoping that it may encourage others to stand steadfastly for Truth.
With much gratitude I look back to the time when I first heard of Christian Science and came into contact with it. I was searching and longing for something that I could not at that time define.
I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and the wonderful truths revealed to us in the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
