Testimonies of Healing

I began the study of Christian Science almost forty years ago. I had been told, following complicated surgery, that I could live only a short time.

I was a dropout from Christian Science for some ten years. I am deeply grateful that divine Love not only directed me to return but also guided and provided for me during the period of my regeneration and re-identification with the Cause.

It is with great joy and gratitude that I submit the following testimony. In October, 1969, I found I had the symptoms of yellow jaundice.

In January, 1925, I was involved in a collision with two streetcars. I was in my automobile (stalled on the ice) in the middle.

Forty-two years ago my husband and I decided to investigate Christian Science because we had seen a remarkable healing take place in the home of a friend. The following Sunday we attended our first Christian Science service.

Each time I hear from the desk of a Christian Science church the announcement concerning applications for church membership I feel a deep sense of gratitude for membership in The Mother Church and the several branch churches in which I have had membership at different times. Particularly so because it was several years after the desire came to affiliate with the movement established by Mrs.

This healing took place in 1962, when I had first arrived in New England to help my daughter care for a young son. Being a newcomer, I knew little about weather conditions, but after a whole day of rain we set out to attend a lecture in The Mother Church.

In the year 1919, I was having mental trouble, and my sister had taken me to a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, several times to hear the reading of the Lesson-Sermon. I could not sit through the Sunday service in the church of which I was a member, nor could I be with people any length of time without spells of crying.

Three healings through Christian Science treatment are outstanding in my experience. The first occurred when I was of preschool age.

In the March, 1967, issue of the French Edition of The Herald of Christian Science appeared a testimony in which I expressed deep gratitude for the blessings I had received through the application of this Science of Christ, revealed by Mrs. Eddy.
