Testimonies of Healing

I am increasingly grateful for the practicality of Christian Science. It has been the only physician in our family of four children.

Four summers ago, while vacationing on a guest farm in Canada, our family had an opportunity to witness the efficacy of spiritual healing as taught in Christian Science. One morning our young son fell down the loft steps and hit the side of his head on the concrete floor of the cottage.

This testimony is given in humble gratitude and hope that it may encourage and inspire others to persist in their demonstrations of divine Science. A condition of failing eyesight, difficulty in articulation, loss of balance, and with this a terrible sense of fear seemed to dominate my life and being.

Christian Science was introduced to me by my stepmother when I was about ten years old. My first impression was that it was a religion of love, and that it showed that God was indeed a God at hand.

I, too, am most grateful for the healings protection, guidance, and way of life Christian Science has brought to my family and me. The study and application of this Science brought about the healing of many unwanted traits of character, and has sustained me through many business problems.

My first introduction to Christian Science was through my marriage. When my husband was fifteen years old, he witnessed his mother's instantaneous healing of a prolonged illness.

The greatest privilege of my life has been that of being reared in Christian Science. My parents were led to Christian Science when my mother as a young woman was given only months to live by three eminent physicians in the city in which we lived.

When I was quite young, I had a governess who was a Christian Scientist, and she spoke to my mother one day about the healing effects of Christian Science. At that time the family was well, happy, and financially secure.

As a young teen-ager I had many misgivings regarding religion. My father, widely read on the subject, told me the only religion he knew which would answer my questions satisfactorily was Christian Science.

The opening words in the Preface to the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, found fulfillment in my experience in the truest sense: "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings.
