Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science came into my life when I was eight years old. At that time my father, after eighteen years of doctoring and after he was given up by his physician, reluctantly agreed to try Christian Science for a period of twenty-four hours.

We have been greatly benefited by Christian Science. Our three daughters attended the Christian Science Sunday School, and many of their problems were worked out with the help they received from the Sunday School.

After more than fifty years of being interested in and studying Christian Science, it is about time that I share with others the blessings that I have freely received. I was brought up in an orthodox, Protestant faith, and accepted its teachings as a matter of course, until in high school I began to question this faith, much to my parents' distress.

Christian Science was presented to me when I was a young woman in England. However, it was not until about a year later that I was ready to accept the truths it teaches.

For many years the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have been a source of comfort and inspiration to me. Although I was brought up in Christian Science and attended Sunday School until reaching twenty years of age, I depended largely on my mother's willing and consecrated work to handle the few problems I had.

I am increasingly grateful for the practicality of Christian Science. It has been the only physician in our family of four children.

Four summers ago, while vacationing on a guest farm in Canada, our family had an opportunity to witness the efficacy of spiritual healing as taught in Christian Science. One morning our young son fell down the loft steps and hit the side of his head on the concrete floor of the cottage.

This testimony is given in humble gratitude and hope that it may encourage and inspire others to persist in their demonstrations of divine Science. A condition of failing eyesight, difficulty in articulation, loss of balance, and with this a terrible sense of fear seemed to dominate my life and being.

Christian Science was introduced to me by my stepmother when I was about ten years old. My first impression was that it was a religion of love, and that it showed that God was indeed a God at hand.

I, too, am most grateful for the healings protection, guidance, and way of life Christian Science has brought to my family and me. The study and application of this Science brought about the healing of many unwanted traits of character, and has sustained me through many business problems.
