Testimonies of Healing

God is a help in every situation in life if one relies on Him. When I was still in my old homeland, I became acquainted with Christian Science and experienced a healing of sciatica.

I feel a deep desire and duty to share with others what Christian Science has meant in my life over the past twenty years. During this time Christian Science has been my only physician, and Mind has been my only medicine.

I wish to express my gratitude to God, who gave us Christ Jesus, and for Mary Baker Eddy, who through her unselfish devotion made provision for our growth Spiritward. I had class instruction from a devoted student of Christian Science.

I am very grateful that early in my life in Japan my mother saw to it that I was taught something of Christian Science. When an experienced Christian Scientist told me that I was a child of God foremost, rather than of a nationality, I was taken by surprise; but more and more as years go along I see the endless benefit of learning to accept the spiritual truth of myself as the child of one Father-Mother Mind.

Peter urged, "Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you" ( I Pet. 3:15 ).

I shall always be grateful for the friend who introduced me to Christian Science more than thirty years ago. It was during the depression years, and a remark of hers greatly intrigued me.

I should like to express my deep gratitude for Mrs. Eddy by attesting to the healing efficacy of Christian Science.

While I was a young girl in my teens, I suffered from an internal disorder which caused hemorrhaging at frequent intervals. I became seriously interested in Christian Science, enrolled in the Sunday School, and experienced several quick, clear-cut healings of colds, toothache, and so on.

Sometimes the newcomer to Christian Science becomes discouraged and fears his understanding is inadequate for his needs, and it is with the desire to encourage the beginner that I give this account of my early experiences in this Science. About forty years ago my husband and I moved our family to a new city and rented a house across the street from a Church of Christ, Scientist.
