Testimonies of Healing

Testifying to the healing efficacy of Christian Science is a sacred privilege. During the seventeen years that I have been a student of this wonderful religion, I have witnessed in my own family healings of cancer, Bright's disease, asthma, pneumonia, and a kidney infection.

A copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy was given to me nearly thirty years ago by one who had been a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School and who later became my husband. I had always desired to know how to pray.

I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science and to acknowledge all the good that has been mine through it. I was brought up in Science as a young girl, but it was not until after I married that I began the study of it for myself.

It is with joy that I am writing of the experiences which have come to me since Christian Science was brought to my attention by a sincere and faithful student of this blessed truth. One of the several physical ills from which I was suffering at that time was a severe skin irritation which was particularly evident on my face.

We read in Science and Health ( p. 3 ), "Action expresses more gratitude than speech.

Christian Science came into my life upon my entering high school when my brother and I rejoined our mother after having been separated for some years due to a divorce in the family. Our mother had taken up the study of Christian Science, and as I look back, I am grateful that we accepted so naturally and easily this new way of thinking and acting.

How wonderful to know that Christian Science is the Comforter promised by Jesus and that any problem, great or small, can be solved through the proper application of this truth! Having studied Christian Science for many years now, I greatly desire to tell something of what it has done for me. When I was in my early teens, I suffered with a disease on my hands diagnosed as eczema.

One beautiful fall day while riding along the highway to visit a member of the family, I felt that the only way out of my troubles was to let the car wander off the road and crash, thus ending it all. I had many family and business worries and was a heavy drinker and a chain smoker.

When I recall the waymarks of the years in which I have been a student of Christian Science, it is difficult to find words adequate to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the healing power of Truth as found in the teachings of Christian Science. After my marriage in 1900, an ailment that had been prevalent in my childhood grew worse.
