Testimonies of Healing

I am sincerely grateful for the many blessings which have come to me. As a child I was brought up in Christian Science, and during the past few years I have truly reaped a harvest of demonstrations, both small and great.

A few years ago, when I was a sufferer in mind and body, Christian Science came into my life like a refreshing and purifying wind. At the home of a good friend I saw The Herald of Christian Science (Scandinavian edition), which had been sent her from America.

With humility and joy I desire to join the many who are now testifying of the Christ, Truth, which heals mankind of mental, moral, and physical ailments. I desire to give my testimony of the healing of defective eyesight.

Gratitude is the open door leading to greater joy, richer life, and increased receptivity. I began reading Christian Science literature for physical healing, and as I read and glimpsed the truth that God is Love, Life, and All-in-all, I realized that I needed much.

" Christian Science is always the most skilful surgeon," Mrs. Eddy has written on page 402 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science and for its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, whose love for and fidelity to good enabled her to be the revelator of Truth to this age, that I send this testimony. While traveling in a southern state, I met a friend whom I had not seen for some time.

In the spring of 1918, as I had not regained my normal state of health following a major operation some six years previous, I became obsessed with a morbid fear of losing my son, a boy of eight years of age, who was frail and delicate and almost constantly under the care of physicians. At a seemingly critical time for him, I became very ill with yellow jaundice, pleurisy, and pneumonia, and was being attended by a physician.

I began the study of Christian Science several years ago, not for physical healing, but because of its beautiful, absolute, spiritual teaching, revealing truths I had hoped in vain to find in my former church. However, in a short time I was overjoyed to find that just through reading, accepting as true, and obeying what I understood of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of the aftereffects of an operation performed a short time before our son was born.

I am grateful to be able to testify to the healing and regenerative power of Christian Science. I have always been thankful for a healing of disease which took place about twenty years ago, although I did not take up the study of Christian Science at that time.

With gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me, I give the following testimony with the hope that it may encourage another who is seeking peace from constant fear. When I first became interested in Christian Science, I had been having spells of extreme fear, seeming at first to arise from an abnormal fear of disease.
