Testimonies of Healing

A number of years before I knew of Christian Science my eyesight had been failing from what is known as a cataract. I submitted to an operation, and my eyes seemed better for a few months; then they grew worse than ever.

My thought often turns with rejoicing to the instantaneous healing, through Christian Science, of a severe form of chilblains of the feet. Every material remedy had failed to give me relief from the extreme suffering, and I was told by physicians that the trouble would return every winter for ten years.

The Apostle Peter says, "Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. " Words fail to express my eternal gratitude for that blessed day when God called me "out of darkness into his marvellous light.

Now is the time, I feel, for me to express in some measure my gratitude for the many blessings and healings that have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. Eleven years ago I received my first healing in Science.

I should like to testify to the healing and saving power of Christian Science, and to express gratitude for the many blessings it has brought into my life. I had wandered in the wilderness for many years, and I was tired of the world and its ways.

An outstanding blessing since Christian Science came into my experience is the unfoldment of the spiritual fact that man is never separated from God, good. "Now are we the sons of God," the Scriptures declare, and a corroborating statement by Mrs.

Our Leader tells us on page 206 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" that "in the scientific relation of God to man, we find that whatever blesses one blesses all. " With faith in the truth of this statement I desire to share with readers of our periodicals some of the blessings which have come to me as I have endeavored to apply the teachings of Christian Science.

In deepest gratitude I wish to exclaim with the Psalmist: "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.

After fifteen months of suffering from a nervous breakdown, caused by a complication of diseases which had not only wrecked me mentally and physically, but my business as well, and after trying every material remedy suggested and prescribed by some of the best medical men in this country, I finally returned to my home convinced that material means offered no help for me. At this time Christian Science was recommended to me, and when asked if I would try it I answered, "I am willing to try anything.

Since I began the study of Christian Science the blessings that have been bestowed upon me have been many. The earnest study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, freed me from a troublesome disease which had bound me intermittently for seven years.
