Testimonies of Healing

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for what it has done for me and mine. About three years ago a neighbor gave me some Christian Science Sentinels and Journals to read.

The study of Christian Science has been and is a constant source of inspiration and joy to me. I did not come into Science primarily for physical healing, although since I began this study I have experienced several physical healings, of colds, toothache, headaches, sprains, and the need of wearing glasses.

It is over twenty-two years since I first turned to Christian Science for aid and was instantaneously healed of a severe form of stomach trouble which had been with me for many years, and had on two occasions forced me out of business positions. Some eighteen months before turning to Christian Science I had been compelled to resign from a position on the staff of a bank in western Canada, and I learned later that many of the townspeople considered that I was dying.

A number of years before I knew of Christian Science my eyesight had been failing from what is known as a cataract. I submitted to an operation, and my eyes seemed better for a few months; then they grew worse than ever.

For more than twenty-four years I have been enjoying the benefits of Christian Science and have had so many healings that it would be impossible to tell of them all, but a few are so outstanding that I want to take advantage of this channel to tell them to the whole world in the hope that someone else will be helped as I have been. As a child and a young girl I was considered very delicate and peculiarly susceptible to disease.

My thought often turns with rejoicing to the instantaneous healing, through Christian Science, of a severe form of chilblains of the feet. Every material remedy had failed to give me relief from the extreme suffering, and I was told by physicians that the trouble would return every winter for ten years.

The Apostle Peter says, "Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. " Words fail to express my eternal gratitude for that blessed day when God called me "out of darkness into his marvellous light.

Now is the time, I feel, for me to express in some measure my gratitude for the many blessings and healings that have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. Eleven years ago I received my first healing in Science.

I should like to testify to the healing and saving power of Christian Science, and to express gratitude for the many blessings it has brought into my life. I had wandered in the wilderness for many years, and I was tired of the world and its ways.
