An outstanding blessing since Christian Science came into my experience is the unfoldment of the spiritual fact that man is never separated from God, good. "Now are we the sons of God," the Scriptures declare, and a corroborating statement by Mrs. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 303) reads, "Spiritual man is the image or idea of God, an idea which cannot be lost nor separated from its divine Principle." To me the simplicity and sound reason in Christian Science were at once convincing.
Many false conditions have been permanently corrected through the knowledge of the truth. I realize now that anything false is only the seeming reverse of what is true. A condition of blood poisoning and a severe attack of influenza yielded completely to the realization of God's omnipotence and man's at-one-ment with the divine Mind. My suffering was intense. I am happy to relate that with the help of a practitioner my consciousness was lifted above the discords of human belief, and not a semblance of either condition remained.
By reliance on God, whose representatives are the angel-thoughts of patience, love, humbleness, and confidence, I have been enabled to suppress erroneous, deceptive thoughts of criticism, self-condemnation, worry, rebellion, and a multitude of other erroneous thoughts which so often seek to gain admittance to our mental homes. Also I have overcome a sense of fatigue and painful sensations in my head and shoulders. These conditions manifested themselves under the guise of strained nerves and it was believed that they came from excessive concentration. As I dwelt steadfastly on the facts that Spirit is ceaselessly active, can neither be fatigued nor suffer pain, and is unchangeably perfect, the unreality of these suggestions was quickly discerned, and I was made free.
