Testimonies of Healing

When I first heard of Christian Science I had been in poor health for over sixteen years. I scarcely knew a day in that time when I was free from pain.

Deep gratitude for Christian Science impels me to testify to some of the experiences passed through during the warring years, demonstrating the practical applicability of Truth and Love. In 1914 I went to the front, and in February, 1915, was wounded by a revolver shot.

I must express just a little of what I feel for what Christian Science has done for me. At a time when I felt that I was not long for this world, I was led by that "still small voice" to ask for something to read on Christian Science.

Having received constant benefits since I began the study of Christian Science, about four years ago. I realize it is my privilege to share a few of these experiences with others.

For many years I suffered very much from throat trouble and was under several different doctors, who, after trying various remedies, each in turn declared he could do no more for me. I was also going to two specialists in London, one of whom I was under for many months.

I wish to express gratitude for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought to me. Two years ago I was healed of rheumatism, which was so severe I was unable to walk without assistance.

It is with a heart filled with love and gratitude that I give my testimony. Although I have been but a comparatively short time in Christian Science, during this period many blessings have come to me and also to my daughters, who have been greatly benefited through the study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

The efficacy of Christian Science to heal disease was first demonstrated to me in an instantaneous healing of appendicitis. For a number of years following, many benefits were received from a knowledge of Truth.

Eight years ago I took up the study of Christian Science hoping that I might help a dear one who at that time was struggling to know the truth. I was in great need of Science myself, but it did not occur to me that I might derive any help from it.

Having been uplifted many times through testimonies given in our periodicals, I wish to tell of the great blessings derived from the study of Christian Science. The realization that my understanding of God was not such that it would sustain me in such trials as seemed to come to others about me led me to look into the teachings of Christian Science.
