Testimonies of Healing
In gratitude for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought to me, I write this testimony. Previous to 1910 I had always been considered frail and delicate, and five years ago I had an operation performed, with the hope of being relieved of a hemorrhage from which I suffered; but instead of being bettered I grew worse.
I, too, wish to bear grateful testimony to the efficacy of Christian Science to heal sickness and other discordant human conditions, for I and various members of my family have been benefited physically, spiritually, and financially. I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but I began studying the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
A HEALING in Christian Science is the most wonderful and gracious experience possible to men on earth. It is the sure sign to one of Immanuel, God with us; the Christ in evidence, or, as defined by Mrs.
When my attention was first called to Christian Science I felt very unkindly toward it. I was prejudiced, and ridiculed it in general.
It is with a deep sense of thankfulness to God that I write this testimony. When Christian Science found me, I was a wreck, mentally and physically.
It is with deep gratitude that I add my testimony to the efficacy of Christian Science in bringing better conditions into my life,—better health, better morals, and quickened spiritual understanding. A few years ago I was an unhappy, sickly girl, with belief in an inherited heart trouble, which had been greatly aggravated by scarlet fever, contracted when on duty as a nurse in the contagion ward.
In December, 1905, I was compelled to return home after making an attempt to start out on my regular work, that of traveling salesman. For about ten days I had been slowly yielding to an attack of what materia medico called bronchial pneumonia, and in the evening of a particular day I was unable to breathe, except with the utmost difficulty and severe pain.
It is with a grateful heart that I wish to tell of some of the blessings which have been brought into my life through Christian Science, as well as of its healing power. I had suffered greatly for about ten years from an organic disease which the physicians said was caused by congestion and displacement of internal organs.
In December, 1910, 1 had a sudden attack of illness, which soon became much worse. As it was Sunday, I was unable to get a message to a Christian Science practitioner until the following day.
About two years ago, the company with which I was then employed sold out to another large concern, leaving me without work. I immediately sought many of my friends who are prominent and influential in business, confident that through some one of them I would secure work in a short time.
