Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science has brought many blessings into our home, and has made us thankful beyond expression. Whenever we have asked for help, we have not asked in vain.

The gratitude of those who know the healing power of Truth is greater than words can express, and it is my hope that this testimony may help some one to seek and receive healing, even as I have sought and received it, in Christian Science. In 1910 I was very ill, and the doctors diagnosed my case as an abnormal growth.

I have received so many blessings through Christian Science that I consider it a privilege to tell others of my healing, and I hope that my testimony may be a help to some other slave to the tobacco habit. I began to use tobacco at the age of seventeen, and from the first used it to excess, continuing to do so for forty-three years.

AN incident of more than passing moment has called to my attention the fact that, although I have often spoken of my healing at the Wednesday evening meetings, I have never given my testimony to the world through the channel afforded for that purpose by our Leader's foresight, namely, our periodicals. The particular epoch in my career which has to do with my healing through Christian Science requires somewhat of a preface.

The infallibility of Jesus' saying, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," has many times been proven to me since the blessing of even a slight understanding of Christian Science has come to me through the study of the Bible in connection with our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

It is quite impossible for me adequately to express my gratitude to God for the numerous blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. I had been a great sufferer for fifteen years with stomach and heart trouble, while for six years prior to taking Christian Science treatment I had dropsy and nerve trouble, and was so very sick for two years that the doctors who were attending me finally said I could live only a short time because my heart was in such a bad condition.

I want to express my deep gratitude for the many blessings which have flowed into my life since I have gained some understanding of Christian Science. There was always a great hunger in my heart to learn more of God, a craving which the old religious belief had never satisfied.

I feel it a joy as well as a privilege to give my testimony in regard to the many benefits I have received through Christian Science. About four and a half years ago a relative became so interested in this teaching that I was induced to investigate it for myself.

I am glad to avail myself of the opportunity to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. For five years prior to becoming acquainted with its teachings, I had been struggling with a severe affection of the knee-joint.

In gratitude to God, to our dear Leader Mrs. Eddy, and to all those who have helped me on the way, I wish to relate my healing through Christian Science.
