Testimonies of Healing

Having been helped so much by reading the testimonials in the periodicals, and being grateful for what Christian Science has done for me, I hope that this testimony may help some one else. In October, 1909, I was stricken by something that the best of doctors could not diagnose, but I was powerless to move any part of my body except my head.

I am glad to state that Mr. Grover has continued to improve and is now able to walk without a cane.

I have many times wished to write my experience since I came into Christian Science, and I can no longer refrain from expressing my gratitude for the blessings I have received through this teaching. I hope that these few words will be useful to others, who may be in need as I was, and that they may be led to the one true and living God and His Christ.

Twenty years ago, by a strange providence, I came into possession of a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

During the twenty-three years that I have appreciatively read The Christian Science Journal, I have not written for it any of my many demonstrations of the facts of being, but now that the demonstration of peace within myself has been consummated, I want to tell it, knowing that my experience has not been unique, and with the hope that it may help some other girl. Ten years ago, when just out of college, and with all a college girl's ambition, I found the world very different from my expectations.

I DID not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but because I was tired of what seemed a hopeless struggle against a selfish and sinning disposition. I never remember really believing in the vague and terrifying concept of God presented for my childish worship, but I had an insatiable desire to get to the bottom of things, and for a time the theories of natural science and speculative philosophies seemed to explain life sufficiently.

I have been interested in Christian Science for a number of years, and daily breathe a prayer of thanksgiving for the coming to me of this life-giving truth. I have been blessed in many ways, and as my last demonstration has convinced me more than ever of the all-power of God, I want to give it to hungering humanity.

It is with a great sense of joy and gratitude that I add my testimony to the steadily increasing number of those who have been brought out of darkness into the light of Truth through the teachings of Christian Science. Since I became interested in this teaching I have received many blessings—so many that it would not be possible to relate them all here.

I wish to tell of the wonderful healing, through Christian Science, of a sore that had been on my face for twenty-five years and had been pronounced malignant by a great many people. I had tried every means I could hear of to cure it.

It is with a heart full of gratitude to our heavenly Father that I wish to testify to the great blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. Some four years ago, soon after returning from a ten-mile walk during which we were caught in a heavy rain and drenched to the skin, I experienced a severe pain in the abdomen.
