Testimonies of Healing

Prior to four years ago I was very much opposed to Christian Science, but at one time, on becoming dissatisfied with physicians and drugs, I called upon a practitioner, stating that I had no faith in Science, but wished treatment. The practitioner asked if she might explain to me the teachings of Christian Science, and when I consented she did so, also invited me to attend the church and visit the reading-rooms.

I wish to express my deep gratitude for an experience which opened up to me a clear understanding of our Leader's statements respecting the influence of mortal mind upon the body, and I give it with the hope that it may be of help to many who read it. A great feeling of gratitude surges over me when I think of my condition now as compared with what it was when I turned to Christian Science for help. Even gratitude seems a poor word to express what I feel, and it is my earnest wish that this testimonial may induce some one who is in need to turn to this source for help, for Truth will not fail.

I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me, hoping that it may benefit some one as I have been helped. This truth found me with my health and home broken up.

Before coming to Christian Science, I had been suffering from ill health for many years, and worry seemed to increase it, until at times I suffered almost complete collapse. I tried many doctors and remedies without any benefit, I also tried willpower, and thought that if I paid no attention to my ailments they might disappear in time; but I kept getting worse, until finally I gave up and sank into a state of hopelessness, when death would indeed have been welcome.

With a deep sense of thankfulness I write this testimony for the benefit of others, realizing the help I have received in the same way. I have known something of the good done by Christian Science for more than twenty years, but did not study it until the last eight or ten years, and I find that the more I study and try to demonstrate its teachings the more I gain from it.
