Testimonies of Healing

One evening after supper my husband announced that it was going to be necessary for him to leave home. This came as quite a shock to me.

I have been a student of Christian Science since I learned about it through reading the Christian Science Sentinel in eighth grade. After receiving permission from my mother to attend the Christian Science Sunday School and to get the book I had read about, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I studied it along with the Bible.

I opened The New York Times on a Sunday morning last summer and was astonished to read the headline announcing the death of Princess Diana. I felt gripped with sadness and despair.

How comforting it is to have a practical religion that is an integral part of daily life. I want to express my gratitude for Christian Science; for the understanding of God, and of man as His idea; and for the confidence, inspired by this religion, that all that is real is good, Godlike.

Several days before it was time for me to leave for my yearly Christian Science Students Association meeting, I woke up with severe stiffness on my left side and was not able to walk. I remembered one of my favorite passages from Psalms: "It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

At the beginning of the year before last, I was starting out afresh. I had recently graduated from college and returned to my home country.

We often take our mobility very much for granted. But, when it is taken from us, we realize how precious that reflection of omniaction is.

In my junior year , in a high school baseball game, I was hit directly in the mouth by a pitched ball. The damage to my mouth was considerable.

It was a busy night at the nightclub and restaurant where I was performing, so much so that the floor had been temporarily filled with tables. The crowd had thinned out by the third show, and the tables were cleared off.

My son had a wonderful healing when he was three years old that illustrates that the true Father-Mother Love is ever available and can handle every emergency. While playing on the monkey bars at his day-care center, my son fell, injuring his neck and shoulder.
