Testimonies of Healing

As A Lifelong Christian Scientist, I can no longer put off sending in my contribution testifying to Truth's healing power. One day in January of 1996, after coming home from my usual four-mile walk, I was unusually tired.

I First Found Christian Science, or it found me, through a copy of the Journal . My heart lifted as I read the articles.

In September Of 1991 I was ill with what appeared to be pneumonia. Over the course of three weeks my breathing became extremely labored and nights were particularly difficult.

As I stopped to admire a particular scene along the ice-covered trail in one of my favorite nature sanctuaries, there came a loud noise and I suddenly found myself facedown on the ground. I had slipped on the ice.

Knowing how much God loves us and understanding Him better gives us a lot of unfoldment and a new grasp of spirituality. I found this out when I started applying divine Science in all my doings as the result of a lifelong search for a more complete understanding of the Supreme Being.

For a number of years I was a real estate broker and loan officer. On one particular transaction, the clients came to me for help in obtaining pre-approval on a loan.

How grateful I am for God's absolute law of goodness and for the fact that "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" ( Heb. 4:12 ).

As far back as I can remember as a child, I felt a closeness to God. If I felt ill, I refused medicine, although I had no knowledge of Christian Science.

Reading other people's testimonies has always been so inspiring to me, and now I would like to add my own. Being born into a loving family of Christian Scientists, I learned by heart many helpful passages from the Bible, Science and Health, and the Christian Science Hymnal that give assurances of God's care for us all.
