Testimonies of Healing

A few years ago, I found myself experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath. I blacked out and was taken to a hospital.

Gaining new insights from familiar (and not so familiar) Bible passages is an awe-inspiring adventure.   At a time when I had been studying Christian Science for about four years, our younger daughter became quite ill.

My daughter and her family traveled to Texas this past summer to visit me. The River Walk is a well-known attraction in San Antonio, and I planned on showing it to them.

In 2008 I traveled abroad to Tanzania and Kenya, where I was extremely grateful to have Christian Science. I was thrilled to go on safari and see incredible animals and birds, but also had some anxiety over the warnings I’d received about malaria and sleeping sickness, as well as about the political situation in Kenya.

Christian Science teaches us that the action of the Christ is always powerful and present to heal. I would like to share a testimony that demonstrated the activity of the Christ in my individual experience.

One afternoon while enjoying a swim in the Sea of Cortez with my husband, our two children, and a friend, I was evidently stung or bitten on one of my toes by something that apparently didn’t like sharing space with me. Since I was the only one getting out of the water at the time of the incident, no one else noticed what had happened.

Several years ago, I injured both of my knees. I could not walk more than a short distance without pausing.

Some years ago, I was driving down Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills at rush hour, when I suddenly began to experience chest pains. I pulled over to the side of the road.

ON ONE ESPECIALLY   busy day in 2005, our family of four was visiting my in-laws. By midday, my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter was not acting like herself, and by early afternoon she had a fever.

Christian Science has brought many blessings and great joy to my life. A recent experience proved challenging, but persisting with the truths taught by Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy again led me to healing.
