Testimonies of Healing

One morning, during my visit with a family in Mexico, I offered to help with the laundry. The linens were washed in an old-fashioned machine and then taken up to the roof to dry on clotheslines.

Years ago my husband and I made the decision to have our firstborn child at home, as the law in our state allowed. At that time home births were uncommon, but my husband and I, who are lifelong Christian Scientists, desired to have the birth in the privacy of our home.

The author experienced ongoing spells of nausea when a new chapter was beginning in his life. He didn’t give up on what he knew what true about God and himself, and was healed.

In my first job after college, I had an experience that vividly demonstrated to me the immediacy of Christian Science healing.   I was working at a start-up company in Boston, away from home.

Through many years of my study of Christian Science, I have been grateful for numerous healings, ranging from colds to leukemia, as well as various examples of God’s gracious protection from evil. I would like to take this opportunity to express gratitude to God and to Christian Science for a healing in my life that took place over eight years ago.

One evening I challenged a good friend to a wrestling match. A second or two into the match I found myself on the floor and heard a snapping sound in my shoulder and ribs.

I am relatively new to Christian Science and learned about it from a co-worker of mine, who is now a dear friend. Before this time, I had heard of Christian Science but hadn’t really known what it was.

Late in 2007 a spot developed on my cheek, like a small wound.

I really love running, and it had been a week since my last distance run. As I started to prepare for my run, a thought came to me to stay home and study Christian Science.

My brother enjoys biking and sharing his love of the sport. Twenty-five years ago he gave my wife and me new mountain bikes.
