As a testimonial to the healing efficacy of "Truth properly taught and understood." I will give one item of personal experience. According to belief, my son several months ago had a severe fall, stepping off' the side of an opening in a floor two feet and a half in width, striking the lower part of ribs on his right side, removing the skin several inches in diameter. Hearing the noise, I called to him, but got no response; the second time, it was the same. The third time, realizing the position, and gathering thought up to the standpoint of Truth, immediately applying the same, he answered my call, saying, there were two or three ribs gone. I bade him: "Fear not, for God ruled the hour," and as it was bedtime, to lie down for the night. He thought he could not at first, but I insisted, knowing the precious reality of Truth was the "Peace, be still." While mentally applying the same, he at once turned himself over upon that very side, so raw and bruised to appearance, and lay as quietly as if nothing had disturbed him, saying, as I left him, "Call me at the usual time in the morning." At 6 o'clock next day, he ate his breakfast, walked to his place of business, a distance of two miles, worked all day, and walked home at night as fresh and bright as any time before. The second morning I asked him how he got along during the day? "All right, mother," he replied; "I should never have known by my feelings that anything had been the matter with me." And so it has remained to this day.
Ah! what if the world scoffs and scorns the teachings of Christian Science; it little knows the wonderful blessing of revealed Truth come to humanity through another's life experience, or what they are losing, by holding themselves aloof from this more practical understanding of Christianity, that "heals as well as saves."
