PROGRESS

From the November 1885 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We are glad to hear that a noted clergyman has spoken for God as revealed through Christian Science from his pulpit. That is the source from which all encouragement and inspiration should come, and it will come. Every good worker in the vineyard rejoices in another, and all work together for the glory of God.

May the day be not far distant when all pulpits, and not one alone, shall preach the real Christ,—that which healeth all our diseases and destroyeth all our sin. When this religion shall be preached everywhere, there will be no people to stay at home, for the whole world needs, and is asking for, just this religion; and the majority will accept none other.

That was a beautiful tribute to the truth of Christian Science, when a good Orthodox deacon, of ripe years, said, that although he had read the Bible for more than fifty years, he had never seen such light and glory in it as he found there when he learned of the " new tongue." The physical benefit which he received by being treated, seemed of less importance to him than to gain more of that pure understanding by which he could learn to say, " I and the Father are one." May he continue to investigate this divine Science, and go on for many years in new strength, activity and peace—is the wish of " The Journal."
