I wish to let my friends know why I think well of...

From the February 1905 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to let my friends know why I think well of Christian Science. About six years ago. when over seventy years of age, I had the misfortune to fall from a load of corn fodder. In getting off, I turned to get a better foothold, and fell, striking on my back upon the frozen ground. It was a most severe shock for me.

On getting over the bruises, I found that the fall had caused a very bad rupture. The physician said that I would always have to wear a truss. I did so for a few months, and then I had occasion to visit Austin, Minn. While there I called at the residence of my wife's niece, a Christian Scientist. I told her of my unlucky fall, and that, in consequence of the fall, I was wearing a truss. As soon as I told her the circumstances, she said that there was no need for me to wear the truss, that I could get well without it, that I must trust in God, and all would be well. I followed her advice, and from that time I have had no trouble. The rupture disappeared and I am most thankful for the timely advice and treatment of my Christian Science niece. I have also tried to acquaint myself with Christian Science, as taught in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by that noble woman, Mrs. Eddy.
