Testimonies of Healing

I want to express my gratitude to God, to Mrs. Eddy...

From the March 1905 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I want to express my gratitude to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the dear ones here who have so lovingly helped me to know the truth that makes us free. In June, 1902, Christian Science was brought to my notice when I had surely reached man's extremity, for at that time I was a physical wreck, and my mental condition was such as made me very disagreeable to those with whom I came in contact. Neither was my financial condition very promising; but thanks to the eternal truth as taught in our text-book, Science and Health, those conditions have been changed, and I am now healed, physically and mentally. I have learned that there is but one Mind, one intelligence, and that one is God; that I have no self-created intelligence of my own, but that I do, as God's child, reflect the one Mind, and I have proven many times by demonstration that the divine Mind supplies all our need. The spiritual uplifting in my case could only come through divine Love, and this spiritual growth I count as my greatest gain. The small taste I now have of Divine Science leads me to hunger and thirst for more, and my desire is to go on seeking, and realizing the truth until perfection is reached. Since taking class instruction from one of Mrs. Eddy's students, I have been able to help myself and others. I have had some good demonstrations of the healing power as taught by our Master, and now again by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. A very helpful and beautiful proof of what the truth will do, is seen in the overcoming of the awful fear of those who go to the dental chair. Where patients have come to me with the thought of fear, peace and harmony have reigned in a few moments, and have continued throughout a long sitting, showing that Love protects us from the thorns of mortal sense. Before coming to Christian Science, I seemed almost to hate my chosen profession of dentistry, but under the guidance of divine Love it is proving a blessing, not only to me but to those who come to me.

My daily prayer is that I may be a help rather than a hindrance to my brothers and sisters with whom I come in contact. —
