Sincere gratitude impels me to tell of the blessings received through Christian Science. As far back as twelve years ago I had an abdominal enlargement which caused me all manner of inconvenience. Various physicians advised an operation, but to this I could not agree. For years I was under medical care and tried all kinds of remedies, but although occasionally there was some improvement, I never got well. About three years ago a dear friend called my attention to Christian Science. I attended the meetings several times and decided to acquaint myself with its teachings, but soon afterward my condition suddenly grew worse, and the physician whom my husband consulted slated that instead of one there were several growths, which were exerting a pressure on the internal organs, and he strongly advised an operation.
During my short acquaintance with Christian Science I had learned to meet the sense of fear by which I had been entirely controlled on former occasions; therefore I remained calm, trusting in God and knowing that He is my physician and my helper, and diligently read the Christian Science literature. To the physician's great astonishment my condition soon improved, and from then on I devoted myself more earnestly to the study of Christian Science. My understanding was not sufficient to overcome the discordant condition completely, and when in the spring of last year it manifested itself again, I decided to apply to a Christian Science practitioner for help. Treatment was taken up, and within a short time I was entirely free from all trouble. Since then I have been well and happy, and am feeling better than at any time before.
Christian Science has also proved a great blessing to me in these troublous times, and I am deeply grateful to God for having been led to this teaching and for having experienced His love and power. Thanks also to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science.— Newkölln, Germany.
