As a child I was taught to love the Bible and the church, and as a child I always wanted to know about God. As I grew up, this desire led me to read all I could, and question all I could, in the endeavor to find the truth. Soon after joining a nonconformist church I no longer got satisfaction from my religion. Trouble at home made me long still more to get hold of true religion.
The time came for me to commence teaching, and I hoped to find satisfaction in my work. But one's ideals seemed ever impracticable. Just about this time a friend lent me the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and from the moment I commenced reading I knew I had found the truth. Every question was answered in the great illumination which came to me. I was healed instantly of doubt of the existence of God. Hereditary fears were banished; and after studying some time I was healed of nasal catarrh, which had troubled me constantly. Headaches and other minor ailments, which had been looked upon as necessary evils, have also been healed.
One healing which helped me very much was that of a wart on my hand. I had had one when quite a child and it had been medically treated. This time I left it alone until one day I realized I again had an ugly wart. It came clearly to me that I was secretly thinking that the chemical used before had more power than omnipotent Mind. I immediately corrected my thinking, and saw that Mind alone had power to root error. A few days later, I noticed that not a trace of the growth remained. The healing was perfect.
