For a period of fifteen years I suffered from a painful trouble which manifested itself at regular intervals. Finally, I had to submit to an operation on the kidneys. But even after the operation the suffering recurred, and I lost all hope of ever being entirely well again and free from pain. I was always tired, had to avoid exertion, and could attend to my duties only with difficulty.
Through the study of Christian Science, however, I became confident that divine Love alone could help me, and I lost all faith in material remedies. But my own understanding was not sufficient to lift me above the suffering. I therefore asked a Christian Science practitioner for help; and after two visits I was freed from the belief that an intelligence and power existed in the body which could produce difficulties and pain with apparent regularity. I was again a healthy woman, capable of meeting all the requirements of life; and since then I have been able, gratefully and joyously, to perform all my duties.
After my physical healing I had further help from the same practitioner and received great spiritual blessings. Under Christian Science treatment all the seeming difficulties and troubles were solved with wonderful clarity and simplicity; and all the help and correction which I received was so impersonal and so permeated by pure divine Love that I never had a feeling of human intervention.
