Nearly fourteen years ago I became interested in Christian Science through a friend who was healed of a severe case of tonsillitis in two treatments. At that time I was a graduate nurse from a medical hospital. During the years of training I saw most of the diseases known to the medical profession, and various methods of treatment. One disease in particular, that of a floating kidney, I greatly feared, as I had seen many of these cases which did not respond to any kind of treatment; and, as in the case of Job, the thing I greatly feared came upon me.
Upon examination by two of the best surgeons in the city in which I then lived, I was told an operation was my only hope. It was then that the memory of the healing mentioned above, and the name of a Christian Science practitioner, came to me. Full of discouragement, pain, and fear, the next morning found me at the practitioner's office. Words never can express my joy when on reaching home from that visit I found myself completely healed. Since that time I have proved that the power of Truth is the quickest, safest, and most efficacious remedy for all the ills of the flesh.
I am indeed grateful for the many healings that have come to me through Christian Science; but I am more grateful for the spiritual awakening, for a better understanding of God as our Father-Mother. I am grateful to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for giving to us this wonderful message of Truth and Love. I am grateful for class instruction; for membership in The Mother Church; and, not the least by far, for the year which I spent at the Christian Science sanatorium as a nurse. My earnest prayer is that I may daily be governed by that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus."— Chicago, Illinois.
