Testimonies of Healing

I should like to express my gratitude...

From the March 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received in the twelve years I have been studying Christian Science. For eighteen years before that time I had been a physical wreck, and many doctors had failed to heal me. I had always tried to live a Christian life, and had prayed so many times to God for healing that I came to the conclusion that God either could not or would not answer my prayers. When I was away seeking health, a friend advised me to try Christian Science. I went to the Christian Science church, and was so much impressed with the simplicity of the service that I took the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the Christian Science Quarterly home and commenced to study. I soon began to feel much better, and also learned I had never known before how to pray. Since that time I have been healed of nervous prostration, constipation, and chronic pleurisy; and through reading the chapter on Prayer I was healed of quinsy, from which I had suffered for twelve years.

My family also have had very many wonderful healings. Christian Science has helped me through many trying times and over very great sorrow. I have been able to prove what our beloved Leader says on page 66 in the Christian Science textbook, "Trials teach mortals not to lean on a material staff."

I am indeed grateful for the help I have had from a loving practitioner, and to all who have helped me in any way. I am grateful for all of Mrs. Eddy's works; also for the literature and for the better understanding I have gained of God and man. The peace and happiness that have come into my life are beyond my ability to express in words. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and for class instruction; also grateful to that noble woman, our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who lived so close to God that she was able to bring the light of Truth again to a dark and sin-sick world.—
