Testimonies of Healing

I wish to express my gratitude to...

From the March 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to express my gratitude to God for the blessings I have received. Over twelve years ago I was instantaneously healed of acute kidney trouble through the loving help of a practitioner, who began her treatment by telling me that God is Love, and that I am His child, therefore I need not fear. I immediately took up the study of Christian Science, as I wanted to know more about the God who is Love and ever present. Through the study of the Bible and of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I am finding my real self as God's child.

I have been healed of paralysis of the bowels, rheumatism, nervous indigestion, and many other beliefs of a selfhood apart from God. I am especially grateful for a recent healing I have had. My arm was broken in two places, my shoulder was dislocated; and my elbow fractured. I called a practitioner, and in less than three hours the bones were in their proper places. There was very little pain, except during the time the bones were coming into place. I knew God would not forsake me. It is a joy to know (by proving) that "underneath are the everlasting arms," and that there is nothing God cannot heal, if we turn to Him with our whole heart Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 402 of Science and Health that "Christian Science is always the most skilful surgeon." This statement has been proved to me through actual experience; and we have but to demonstrate our at-one-ment with our Father-Mother God and be grateful always. I am deeply grateful to God for His infinite goodness; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who lived so close to God that Christian Science was revealed through her.—
